Stockton Children's Book of the Year 2018

Over the last 6 month children in Year 5 and 6 have been involved in the annual Stockton Children's Book Festival. This is the first year Norton have taken part and it has been a huge success.

Ran by the Stockton library, this project now in its 21st year, involves hundreds of children from across Stockton schools. The award ceremony was a very special event where the children got to meet all the authors involved.

Layla said, " I really loved this project because I wouldn't really read books like the ones chosen but I loved them all. As a result I bought 2 new books which are now my favourites. I read them both in 2 days. I definitely think we should take part next year."

Jacob, " I really liked it because reading books - lengthy ones - wasn't really my kind of thing before I took part in this project. But when I started to read them they clinged to me and now I realised reading was good at any time. "
